The morning after President Douglas Jackson is re-elected for his second term as President, Governor Richard Wallace is awoken by a mysterious phone call. It is a phone call that he had hoped would never come in the almost 20 years that had gone by since he made a deal that would give him the life he wanted. Now, he will set in motion the plans for the state of Texas to leave the United States of America.
As this is happening one night the people of America are interrupted by a mysterious computer hacker, who will soon be referred to as the Voice. The Voice is communicating messages of hope and trying to get the people of the country to take a more active role in the proceedings of the government.
As the Voice gains poularity and more states follow Texas's lead, computer expert is brought into Washington to help Homeland Security find the location of the Voice. As Franklin, gets closer to finding the Voice tensions continue to escalate between the government and the people leading the country towards revolution and the outbreak of a 2nd Civil War.
Will President Jackson be able to keep the nation together or will he lead it to the brink of the end of democracy by having to order his military on the civilians in this country.

For the first time in years I read a book that I couldn't put down, this book! I had a feeling who the voice was. 2014 holds a lot of actual events and truths that open questions that need answered. Great twists and the last one caught me COMPLETELY off guard! Highly recommend this novel. The only part I didn't like was that it ended..... Sequel?
A credible scenario for albeit an unlikely revolt by the overburdened middle class in America. It should provide fodder for people looking for a change in the current political landscape. I will look forward to reading book 2.
Amateurish writing, unbelievably poor proofreading and sloppy formatting ... I borrowed the kindle version but I would seriously demand my money back had I bought this title. One star only because it is needed to have this review accepted.
I am still amazed at the time I did spend on this book hoping for a story. Completely ridiculous in all aspects from poor spelling and use of wording to meandering, meaningless blather simply to fill pages. I had to skip 6-8 pages at a time just to get beyond one conversation between characters. Conversation that was repetitive and unrealistic for the characters and setting. Throughout the book the "president" talks about finding this individual and finding out what this person knows so we can see what the individual's motives are. Seriously, all in one sentence! Drove me crazy. I threw the book away and now am reading a very good, well written book but because of the struggle through 2014 I find myself looking for the same massive grammatical errors, simply out of habit! Ugh, what a waste of time. I think Mr. Anderson should go back to writing school.
